1. A brief introduction to bird ringing in the UK. A group of enthusiastic birders in North Yorkshire show how and why birds are caught and ringed. It also allows a close-up examination of the birds.

  2. After many hours of hard work, throughout continental Spain (I leave the islands for the next time), I managed to edit this short film about the birds of my beloved country. Living and working in the richest European country regarding birds, I tried to film some of the Spanish specialities, mainly for non-Spanish birders. With so many different habitats and species, I had to move, driving to special locations sometimes separated more than 1000 km. The good thing was that after so many years birdwatching and working with birds, I really knew pretty well where to look for...

Mainly shot with Canon HDLRS cameras and 400 5.6 lens (sometimes plus 1.4x and 2x III).

A trio of Snow Leopard cubs born at the Cat Survival Trust in Hertfordshire, born at the end of May 2010. All three are doing really well, and mum is calm enough to let them go for a wander with Doctor Terry Moore who runs the charity.

I hadn't actually expected Terry to fetch them from their enclosure, so had armed myself with my largest lenses for the afternoon, and only had a 15mm Fisheye and 50mm prime to get some up close action when he emerged clutching them!

The latter half of the afternoon was spent in Terry's office seeing the field conservation he is doing on a reservation in Argentina, which is simply amazing. In Argentina he is apparently known as the 'Englishman from the Jungle,' and taken very seriously. On his last trip he met the Argentinian environmental minister, making front page news there.

Conservation needs more people like Terry.
