Fix You (3.5 minutes)
Music Video for Mass Media, St. Francis High School, October 2010
Our first group assignment for Mass Media class was to select a song; write a script; and produce
a video to visually portray the song’s message. Our group selected Fix You by Coldplay. The
storyline centered on a mother who recently recovered from a rare kidney disease. In the case of
our video, art did not imitate life. My role was Director of Photography and Chief Editor. All
class assignments are in a competition. Our video placed first out of the five groups.
On August 26, 2009 (through October 16), the foothills above St. Francis High School and La Canada-Flintridge, raged during the largest firestorm in Los Angeles County history. 89 homes and 160,577 acres were destroyed. And tragically, two brave firefighters lost their lives.
Captain Tedmund D. Hall and Firefighter Specialist Arnaldo Quinones, made the ultimate sacrifice as their vehicle careened off a narrow mountain road while they bravely searched for an escape route so inmate firefighters whose campsite had been overrun with flames could be safe.
Mr. Emmanuel Eulalia, Director of KNIT, our high school on-campus TV station, asked me to produce a memorial feature to honor our two fallen heroes. Here is my memorial to Captain Hall and Specialist Quinones.

Double Take - Flex Soap (2.5 minutes)
Soap commercial for Chemistry class, St. Francis High School, Spring 2010
During chemistry, we studied saponification, the chemical process that produces soap from fatty
acids. Each of the three chemistry classes formed a company. Each student developed a resume
targeting a specific job and interviewed with our instructor. I was hired as the Director of Media
and Advertising. Each class made two types of soap and developed a TV advertisement for each.
I was the screenwriter, director, and chief editor for this video. This link is to our advertisement
for Flex Soap.
