1. This video is a rough cut of the begging of the film I am working on. It is shot in HDV, but this video is standard definition.

Green Dream is a visionary documentary art project.

It incorporates a film, a community mapping project, and explores organic and intuitive process of creation and communication.

    Documentary Film Synopsis

With a bittersweet playfulness, Maia Iotzova brings us along on an intimate and contemplative journey, in search of the root of our conflicting relationship with nature.
Starting with memories of unruly tall grass in her native Bulgaria, and moving through the obsessively manicured short grass in Canada, her film immerses us in a visual exploration of the attitudes and everyday interactions people have with GREEN; the space, the colour and the concept.
What emerges from the images she weaves together is that on one hand we crave and are enchanted by the natural environment but, on the other, we actively control and destroy it. Where is the root of our conflict with nature? How can we find balance and preserve what is so precious to us?
As we follow Maia on her journey, we see her find the answers to these questions in an unexpected place that lies beyond green.

  2. Food upfront - Brixton April 19th 2009

"I’d never grown anything before, but I was spending so much money on salad leaves at the supermarket that I thought I’d give it a try."

Food Up Front supports people to grow food in their unused outdoor space. Whether it’s front gardens, balconies, windowsills or back gardens all our members are given the opportunity to grow and share healthy, natural food. This helps to reduce food miles and dependency on supermarkets, whilst increasing self-reliance and community empowerment.

Food growing is fun! Take a look

  3. People from the UK were joined by nations who had all travelled to attend London’s Climate Camp 2009 and along the way contributing to our UK economy. The majority of visitors wanted simply to be present and share their concerns.

I was taken by people’s genuine kindness, demonstrated in the personal efforts of individuals placing themselves first, each in their own, personal way, contributing, sharing and peacefully demonstrating their concerns for the world to see.

With the whole world watching, these beautiful efforts were quashed by the attendance of riot police, effectively barricading a global display of peaceful protest.
