Rocket ships and humanoids mash it all up together on this all-new retrofunk release featuring oldskool NASA animation (with a special appearance by Ham The Chimp) on top of an growling bed of vintage synth samples.
Our bigtime collection of royalty-free loops and beats from AMG totally nailed the audio assembly, and the waycool Prelinger Archive at archive.org offered up some great public-domain stock footage:
-- Highlights 1965: A Progress Report (1965) for all the great spaceship animation and vintage high-tech lab & research shots
-- Out Of This World (1964) for the 1964 Futurama at the New York World's Fair
-- Trailblazer In Space (1962?) for the b&w clip of Ham The Chimp in outer space
As usual, the song was framed out first in GarageBand (6 tracks), then clips were fit to the initial sketch on an iMovie HD file. Then of course a bunch of back-and-forth to further expand the emerging concept. This one took about 20 hours from start to finish.
