The battle lines for spiritual warfare are very clearly defined in scripture. We all face this spiritual battle every day, but are we really fighting this battle daily? It is possible to face a battle but not really fight in it, which means we will certainly lose this battle most days.
God has given us weapons to fight this spiritual battle. At the top of the list, our most powerful weapon is prayer. If we aren’t engaging God in prayer every day and depending on His strength drawn from our prayer time, we may be facing a battle but not actually fighting it.
We can be sure that our spiritual enemy doesn’t take days off, although most of us desperately wish he would! Given that we know this, there is no way we can take days off either. We always need God’s strength, and prayer becomes our greatest way to fight our greatest battle.
So how often does your day begin with a time of prayer where you call on God for strength throughout the day? How often are you using your greatest weapon to fight your greatest battle?
