  4. In our project, we decided to confront a challenge to portray and represent, via film and photography, a body of artworks by an artist, Jonty Hurwitz. That meant standing face to face and eye to eye with 10 sculptures and paintings in the duration of three weeks.

    The particularity of the works – a necessity to view them from a precise location and position in relation to the artwork in order to be able to “see” – was precisely what made it an interesting journey to undertake. We enjoyed playing with the paradoxical idea to represent something through a non-human optical lens in a way as a human eye would need to see it.

    In this video, which represents a sculpture called the Hurwitz Singularity, we were playing around with the idea of the sculpture in a surreal setting.

Credo che la violenza sia diventata un punto fermo di una sceneggiatura, ed è presente per una ragione drammaturgica. Non penso che la gente pensa al diavolo con le corna e la coda biforcuta, e quindi non crede alla punizione dopo la morte. Allora mi sono chiesto a cosa crede la gente, o meglio di che cosa ha paura: del dolore fisico, e il dolore fisico si sprigiona dalla violenza, è questa credo l'unica cosa che la gente realmente teme al giorno d'oggi, e che quindi è diventata una parte ben definita della vita e ovviamente anche della sceneggiatura.
