The final sunset of 2012. We headed up the hill to catch a time lapse of the setting sun. Unfortunately the wind picked up and the cloud swept in so the sun disappears in the cloud rather than 'setting' and there is a bit of movement as the wind blew the tripod around (I have quite a sturdy tripod, but it was sufficiently windy that we had our planned picnic inside the car in the end).
I'm just starting out with this whole time lapse thing (in fact with this whole video thing, I usually stick to still photos) so its all a bit of learning curve. Next I learn how to remove the camera movement from the wind, and next time I'll leave the camera set up for a bit longer after dark to give the video a bit more time to run after the sun 'sets'.
This video was shot on Port Levy saddle on the road between Port Levy and Little River, Banks Peninsula, near Christchurch, New Zealand.
Time lapse of the first sunrise of 2013. Still learning this time lapse thing, but I think the thing I learnt with this one is that I should leave the camera set up until well after the sun is done rising as the video could have done with a bit more sun at the end there. I'm hoping to spend a bit more time learning how to do these this year, so hopefully next year's video will be more impressive. :)
This video was taken on the 1st of january 2013 from Godley Head at the mouth of Lyttelton Harbour in Christchurch, New Zealand.
