My life in Nairobi is so incredibly diverse. In the past two months, I’ve commuted to work in the slums dozens of times, and returned after long days back to the leafy suburbs of Lavington where I stay in an apartment near other expats and upper-class Kenyans. I saw baby elephants and fed giraffes with my bare hands. I was awake for a sunrise in Tsavo National Park. Kenyans went to the polls, and after a precarious week of vote counting, accepted the results peacefully and eagerly went back to work. I took a lot of motorcycle taxi rides- always with my trusted driver. We still got stuck in traffic. My clinic doubled the number of patients we work with. We held an event and dewormed 177 children. And much more.
This is not the end of my involvement with the project- but a chance to pause after two months, publish what I have so far, and share what I am doing with friends and family.
