I filmed a second or so from each day last year. My friend, Rory Scovel, made a similar video in 2012 so I copied him. I picked a very lucky year to film. I started it off as an LA stand up comic with an engineering day job, and through a crazy turn of events, I ended it working at Saturday Night Live. This was a very fortunate year.
Side note: if you only film one second out of your day and put it to music, it looks like your day was much cooler than it actually was.
We asked 1 Second Everyday App users to use our new Crowds feature to submit 1 second from January 2014. Here's a snippet of life on Earth through 365 perspectives.
Three years ago I started recording 1 second every day for the rest of my life... Two years ago I spoke at TED 2012 and ended the TED talk by hinting... "Wouldn't it be interesting if thousands of people were doing this?"... One year ago I ended my Kickstarter video to fund the 1SE App by saying "I have some rather ambitious ideas for the future of this concept"... I had a preposterous dream, that 1SE could one day help bring our world a little closer together... To show our collective humanity... To prove that we all have much more in common than we can possibly imagine. This video is my first tiny step towards that dream...
