This is a song about the Crandall Canyon Mine disaster in Utah. Both miners and rescuers perished in this tragic event.
Below, is quoted from Brad.

"The song is an original composition by me, done August 2007.
It is more a story about the surviving miners and their attempt to rescue those who were trapped. I chose to focus on the miners who were doing the drilling of test holes to see if they could find any open places where the trapped miners could have gone to seek refuge.

The name of the song is "Empty Again," a term drillers use when they fail to hit their target or hit something other than what they were going for, ie, the sadness of coming up empty again.

The mention of the White Lady is a reference to the spirit of a woman who (in the folk lore of the area of the Crandall Canyon mine) could either guide one through the disaster or take one into the disaster, I chose the later.

The mine collapsed on August 6, 2007, at 2:48am MDT, trapping 6 miners all of whom perished."

Another great example of a songwriter/performer appearing at ALCHEMY COFFEE's Open Mic. Series in Salt Lake City.

If your schedules permit, please stop in Tues. nights at 7-9:30PM and share the magic of original music.
