  2. Why scrolling? A scroll or to scroll is to cause our vision to move up, down, or across so that a line of text or graphics appears at one edge of the page. Usually a purely optical sensation and the auxilliary movement through a magazine in our hand creates the idea of scattering our vision. As we read through (scan) the displayed text and graphics, each line, symbol, section moves off the page leaving a residual idea of each other line, symbol and section. Scrolling a page of text and image allows us to determine visual correlations between the arras of information.

Visual correlations include the from top, left: (1) institution and memorialisation, (2) decorative features and juxtaposed furniture as a weapon to subvert and soften modernity’s dehumanising, (3) machine aesthetic, (4) overt use of vector graphics, (5) eclectic content, (6) the collective voice of external support (7) vastness and saturation of image filling the frame – and a lack of white space.
