1. A tugboat commisioned by the Ministry of Munitions, named Valiant came to life in 1945 22.5 metres long, 5.4 metres wide with a displacement of 72 tons. At the end of world war 2 ownership of the Valiant passed to the Melbourne Harbour Trust Commissioners where she was outfitted as a fire boat. She was retired and then she changed ownership a few times before reaching her final resting place in 1981. Conflicting stories tell the story of her last hours afloat but its certain she now rests in 28 metres of water and still provide shelter to those who seek refuge from the harsh marine surroundings.
