Emilio Mínguez is professor of Nuclear Engineering in the College of Industrial Engineering (ETSII), Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). Vice-rector for academic & doctoral studies (2012- ), he has been previously (2004-2012) vice–rector of UPM for academic management & professors, associate Dean in the ETSII (2001-2004) and chairman of the nuclear engineering department (1999-2001)
Prof. Minguez is also member of the board of the Spanish Nuclear Society (1985-1989) (2010- ) and vice president of the European Nuclear Engineering Network (ENEN) Association (2009-). He has been member of the Steering Committee of the European Nuclear Worldscan (1985-1989), member of the European Panel of the Laboratoire pour l'utilisation des Laser Intenses de L'Ecole Polytechnique (1992-2002) and member of the Expert Group on Education, Training and Knowledge Management of OECD/NEA (2009-2010)
Referee for several international journals, Prof. Minguez published over 230 papers in international journals with referees and presented over 250 papers in international conferences as contributed or invited
His scientific fields of research and teaching are reactor physics (neutronics and thermohydraulics), technology of advanced reactors, nuclear transmutation, technology of fusion reactors, hybrid reactors and atomic physics for hot dense plasmas
