1. I filmed this run to see each athlete's thought process when they are skiing a run that doesn't have perfect lines and moguls. This makes them think 3 turns ahead and be quick on the feet when they have to adjust. Liam does a great job with this. One thing to note on this run is his right hand. It keeps dropping down after each turn and needs to stay up. Liam needs to keep the hands up and out in front of him and needs to continue reaching. Good skiing here.

  2. Let's focus on the lower body on this run: Liam is turning in the backseat and is using the heel part of his ski to carve the turn. He needs to think about carving with the tip of his ski and keeping his feet underneath him. Right now his feet are out in front of him which is causing him to push his feet out from side to side rather than carve and have the turn flow smoothly. If you pause at :08, you can see how his feet are out in front and how he is pushing the turn. On the jump - keep those eyes and hands up!

  3. On the takeoff, Liam's hands are back behind him. They need to be out in front so that he will be forward. With his hands back behind him, this made him be backseat on the takeoff which translated to being backseat in the air. On the 360, his eyes are looking down, make sure you spot uphill. On the landing, you can see that he absorbed it with his chest. Bend those knees and absorb with them rather than your chest.

  4. Liam does a great job keeping his hips and shoulders facing downhill, or as we call it, keeping them square. Liam's hands are continuing to pole plant on the top of the mogul rather than waiting for the backside of the mogul. He needs to be patient wait to just "tap" the backside so there is no movement in his hands. If you pause the video at about :09, you can see how his right hand drops each turn and his left hand is planting on the top of the mogul. Having his hands down brings his chest down, which is why he hunches. By getting his hands up, he'll bring his chest up and then be able to easier keep his feet underneath him. On the jump, his hands are down on the takeoff again. Get them out in front. Great spot with your eyes on this jump! Just spun a little to fast.

  5. Liam does a better job standing his chest up on the top part of this run but then it starts hunching towards the middle. Still think about bringing the hands up and pole planting with a light tap on the back side of each turn. As for the lower body - Liam is still hard on the edge under his feet. He needs to be more in the front of the ski with the turn and carve with the tip. That way, it will be easier to squeeze the feet together. For the jump - make sure those hands and eyes are up!
