1. Erica Madison, Anchorage Alaska.

I caught Erica in preparation for her 5-month, 2000-km, ski traverse from Vancouver, BC to Skagway, AK. All the mountain scenes are from our Denali Traverse (thingstolucat.com/denali-traverse)- Erica and Sarah Heck joined us for the exit.

This was my product from Carl Crum's 5-day Documentary Workshop, DocShops. I learned more during the workshop than I had in the previous two years of hacking on my own. Thanks to Erica, Sarah Heck, the APU gym, Baraba's Ballet Studio, Carl Crum, Slavik Boyechko, and Travis Gilmore.

  2. This film follows five friends on a 30-day, 370-mile, self-supported traverse over the tallest mountain in Canada. The team starts by paddling inflatable boats on the ocean, then skis up and over Mt. Logan using the boats as sleds, then floats rivers back to the road system in Alaska. The film addresses the hardships involved, most notably an avalanche that caught two team members, but maintains a light and fun attitude and reverence for the incredibly beautiful wilderness. 12 min.

  4. Bike/Packraft traverse over Mt. Orizaba, Mexico. We biked 140 miles and packrafted 80 miles. Orizaba is the 3rd largest peak in North America, 18,491 ft.

We bought bikes in Puebla, biked to the base of Orizaba, climbed the mtn, biked to the put-in for Rio Antigua's Barranca Grande, gave away our bikes, and packrafted out to the beach north of Veracruz.

The video is mashed up with the official video for Good Time by Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen.
