On the AVE line from Madrid to Sevilla. This gentleman was complaining because the food menu in first class contained both Spanish and Catalan descriptions. "This is Spain, not Catalunya," he had said, and the purser kindly listened to him and told him that the menu was printed for both the Madrid-Sevilla line and the Madrid-Barcelona line.
It shows the long-lasting divide between the Spanish and their Catalan countrymen, one that even now, 30+ years after this republic was declared and Catalunya received some measure of autonomy, there is still a good amount of disdain for all things Catalan amongst the non-Catalan populace of Spain.
I've decided to start including footage I take on other days besides Sundays. We had a church activity a couple weeks ago where we went to the Yakult Swallows game. I've been to a number of games in Japan now, and every time I'm amazed at the unique differences between the American baseball experience and its Japanese counterpart. Here I attempt to display some of that uniqueness.
