My father, Neil Shea, decided to step into the gym for the first time at 60 years old. After months of sticking with it and making good progress, he asked if I'd make a video of him working out, a "highlight reel" of sorts.
I've posted it on different fitness forums, usually as a response to people asking how they can get their parents into working out. The response is always overwhelmingly positive. One of my favourite personal videos, as it is a constant reminder that I was able to give my dad something in return after all that he has done for me over the years.
This Christmas (2012) I travelled to New Mexico with my partner Sarah to stay with her family. Her step bother Kelcey and his partner Reagan were there with their 8 month old son, Milo. It was his first Christmas and since I had my camera along, I figured it was as good a time as any to shoot some footage.
I put together this video in a story chapter fashion. I like the movie Amelie and I love the soundtrack, so the choice of music had a big hand in inspiring me. Sarah's family were full of praise and appreciation and once again I was able to get some satisfaction out of knowing that I provided a life long memento for such a temporary period in a child's life.
