The Gullah of St. Helena Island: Our Land, Our Community, Our Culture

Former magistrate Joe McDomick has worked on issues surrounding Gullah land use for years. Land that was acquired by freed slaves after the Civil War is now prime real estate and under development pressure that threatens the community way of life development. Preserving and protecting it is essential to the survival of the Gullah culture.
