Each year Stone Soup Films, a DC based non-profit that builds the capacity of worthy organizations through the production and donation of promotional films, tasks interns to create a short film highlighting a local Hero. Working as a three-person team we chose Farris Johnson who founded OurSpace Acupuncture. OurSpace is a Community Acupuncture clinic that allows people to experience the medicine of acupuncture without cost being a limiting factor.
This was a student project in which we were asked to chose a topic and produce a short video on the subject. We found Old School Boxing gym in Southeast DC as our subject. Buddy who owns the gym has devoted a large portion of his life to coaching kids who might otherwise be on the street and providing them with positive role models.
