  5. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, six-time U.S. champion Matt Ghaffari won professional acclaim by winning a silver medal in Greco-Roman Wrestling and personal acclaim in the aftermath of the tragic bombing in Atlanta's Centennial Park. Very shortly after a pipe bomb claimed one life and left more than 100 people injured, the Iranian-born wrestling hero "put humanity ahead of sports" and quietly visited many of the victims in their hospital rooms. Ghaffari came to the U.S. from Iran in 1977, entered Cleveland State University on a wrestling scholarship, and earned a degree in business administration while pursuing his interest in coaching and competition. A well-received motivational speaker, Ghaffari also began in the fall of 1996 as head assistant wrestling coach at Cleveland State.
