This video shows the careers of both the speech pathologist and audiologist. It takes you through the day to day activities of each, the work environments, shows what the education and training requirements are, and talks about salary ranges. Through the eyes of both the practitioner and the student, you gain a thorough understanding of what the pros and the cons of the career are and whether or not this is the right career for you.

If you want to know what a career is really like, these are the videos to watch. Career Moves is designed for the person wishing to learn about a particular career viewed through the eyes of practitioners and students. You see a day in the life of the career, what the working environment is like, salary ranges and pros and cons of the career. You'll also learn what classes one should take to pursue the career and what training and certification may be required. These videos are especially useful the the high school and college student who wishes to get a sense of real life options and the educational choices one should make to pursue that option.

I produced these five videos in the mid to late 90's. The Physical Therapy video won the highest educational media award in the country at that time, the Golden Apple. The series also got the attention of PBS's Adult Learning service and aired there many times. Certainly, these videos can use some updating. My intention is to restart the Career Moves project, update these five pieces and do many, many more. I've felt since I started this project that real career info is difficult to find. A retired educator told me recently that it's even harder to find it now than when I started.

I'd love feedback on what you see here. Please feel free to comment. And if you have suggestions for careers you think would be popular, mention them too. At this point, I'm open to everything.

Also, should you be aware of organizations that might like to help fund the production and distribution, please pass that info along too.

Thanks,

Kevin
