1. **To all those affected by the earthquake and tsunami. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We wish for the safety of you all.**

Japan is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. This is my Japan. This is one of the many reasons why I love Japan. I shot this in many locations around Japan in the summer of 2009. Some of the location include Tokyo, Matsuyama, Imabari, Nagano, Gifu, and Ishizushisan.

I started this as a personal project to try and capture the beauty that I see in Japan. It started as just that...

But now that I have finished, I see it only as a beginning. This video, along with SAIJO MATSURI (vimeo.com/7458088) is just the start of a much larger project that I have now decided to do.

Anyone interested in helping fund/produce this dream of mine please feel free to contact me:

So I hope you enjoy this preview of what is to come in the future.

  3. I spend a lot of time thinking about the way memory and sight work together. I don't think we remember in "pictures" or long videos... but something in between. Perhaps we also sense, at times, more than 30 fps, and unexpected parts of the brain fire when we are presented with certain objects and forms.

  4. Filmed over a week in Kyoto and its surrounding areas. I''ve been to Kyoto many times before and always wanted to capture the beauty of its atmosphere. The place has an mysterious feeling, with ancient temples and tranquil forests.

Scenes include the Golden Pavilion Temple, Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu Temple, Gion, Ryoanji, Todaiji, and Arashiyama. We also made trips out to nearby Osaka, Nara, and Koyasan. Especially in the winter, the snow was beautiful in the Mount Koya world-heritage.

  5. After the nuclear power plant accident, Tokyo continues to voluntarily conserve power. Tokyo night was darkened slightly. But the streets are still filled with people and cars.

Hi! Pleased to "shout" my video, a 4 min fast paced jump-cut journey through the lights of Tokyo, the summit of Mt Fuji, the eerie torii of Kyoto, humility at the feet of the Great Buddha, and smiles in Osaka. Audio is half the battle, and we got lucky with the perfect soundtrack. Satisfaction guaranteed. :)
