Founded in 1912, Loyola Press has committed itself to producing resources for faith formation, education, and spiritual growth. National Jesuit News recently spoke with the Loyola Press Publisher, Jesuit Father Paul Campbell about the evolving ministry of content publishing.
UpWord Studios (upwordstudios.org), a non-profit organization that supports and funds the creation of Catholic new media, today launched the new The Rosary multitouch ebook on iTunes. As one of the first interactive textbooks available on iTunes, this inaugural project by UpWord Studios demonstrates how digital technology brings new life to Catholic tradition.
Working with content licensed from ACTA Publications, Loyola Press, and Carrick Ministries, The Rosary was designed to serve as a participative teaching aid for the iPad. It can be utilized by everyone from ministers and educators to laypeople and seekers to learn how to fully experience praying the rosary.
The Rosary mutitouch ebook features:
• Interactive content, including embedded graphics, video, and audio
• Animations and dynamic diagrams that change with touch gestures
• Flash cards and glossary
• Interactive quizzes
This multimedia textbook also leverages the iPad feature set, including landscape and portrait modes, pinch to zoom, color highlight and annotation, and digital notes.
