This is JP LIVE! Take a tour of the Solar System with Janet and her crew,
Janet morphs into an imaginary spaceship that takes the audience on an intergalactic problem-solving mission fueling STEM potential in young earthlings as we take a high tech tour of our solar system. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of scientists, mathematicians and space explorers. JP is a hub of ever expanding knowledge and space facts and our tour of the Solar System combines my three loves, live theatre, multi-media and interacting with children.
The futuristic set is as you see on the screen, with the characters up in mission control, Prof. Cosmos. Dr. Comet and Cody. Cody appears on occasion on stage with me down in the theatre bay and the kid’s go wild for the robot!
On this tour our ship’s supercomputer Galileo has been communicating with its friend Voyager 1 currently in deep space, and apparently Voyager 1 saw a star go SUPERNOVA and we are headed to the edge of our solar system for a Super Nova Pizza Picnic.
Just as we are ready to blast off and take a tour of each of the planets in our solar system, our ship’s super computer Galileo malfunctions at the hands of Dr. Comet. Galileo is crucial to our mission because he transmits intergalactic knowledge from his vast hard drives and helps us maneuver in space. A temporary residence is found for his brilliant mind, TOASTBOT, the toaster the guys made in college. Cody brings Galileo down from Mission Control to the theatre bay so that the audience and I can monitor him. It is now up to the JP Space Crew, Professor Cosmos, Cody the Robot, Dr. Comet, Janet and the audience to gather all the elements necessary to repair Galileo with materials from our very abundant solar system.
Zoom through the Milky Way and learn about planets, why Pluto isn't one anymore and only a dwarf planet, learn to do the Saturn Salsa IN SPANISH, do the Cosmic Chicken on the moon and hear some fantastic space quotes by everyone from Carl Sagan to Buzz Aldrin to Tycho Brahe! Learn a lot and have some fun traveling at the speed of thought!
Produced in partnership with Space Florida, Exploring Microgravity helps students understand gravity and microgravity. Winner of a 2010 Regional Emmy, a 2010 Gracie Allen Award and a 2010 STEMFLORIDA AWARD.
JP also presents a live version of this same material!
JP “Exploring Microgravity” is a 45-minute experiential educational hands-on explanation of gravity and microgravity. Kids experiment with gravity, its force and attempt to defy it…then get a chance to see Janet onboard the Zero G plane experiencing microgravity. Geared for grades 3-6 “Exploring Microgravity” employs the latest in digital projection, augmented reality and interactive technology. Students perform various experiments on stage with Janet astounding their friends and teachers in the audience.
Exploring Microgravity is supported with integrated curriculum that meets National and State Science Standards.
By focusing on science and technology, "JP travels At The Speed Of Thought,” and grooms the science leaders of tomorrow.
Give your students an out of this world galactic, imaginative learning adventure with Janet!
