Part 2 of a cabaret appearance.
Improvisation for a late night Manchester Audience.
Filmed at Vaudeville, Green Room, Whitworth St., Manchester. October 2008
Live electric guitar and pedals.
The sound from the camera position was not very good so I have just crash edited a few bits to give an impression and a flavour of audience reception. Proving (I hope) that improvised music can be entertaining and even work in a cabaret context.
Working with objects and materials found above a toyshop I made a surround sound system and live computer patch which transformed and distributed sounds as I made them, to all corners as I explored the process of assembling a personality from childhood to the unfinished jigsaw of an adult.
Documentation (in progress) of installation and performance in Blackburn Lancashire. Made for FOund(ed) in Blackburn august 2012
As part of the 2011 I Love West Leeds Arts Festival, Sam Lawrence, Gerry Turvey and Daniel Weaver collaborated on a one-off, site specific dance performance which took place in Bramley Park's children's play area.
Onlookers were sucked into an imaginative and immersive performance created as two ball-gowned dancers weaved playfully around the swings and play equipment to the live music and sounds created by Daniel Weaver on custom made musical instruments including old kitchen utensils and tools.
This short video created by Mike Leigh Cooper, and recorded during the rehearsals and performances, paints a bite-sized picture of the performance highlights.
