Sven Väths empire stroke back this July, when the techno overlord returned to Cocoon London at matter, bringing a crack squadron of the extended Cocoon familys very best talent for another night (and morning...) of non-stop pyrotechno.
With the April debut selling out well in advance, the scene was set for a night that truly earned the tag Epic Sven was joined by Chris Tietjen, Extrawelt live, Dorian Paic and Jamie Jones (ably deputising for the sadly absent Onur Özer), with the staggering all-pervading atmosphere remaining undimmed at 8am, when the afterparty kicked off on matters 2nd floor with the dancefloor full until well into Sunday afternoon. Only a few weeks remain until the hugely anticipated return, for which Cocoon have pulled together a superb selection of house and technos most keenly talented DJs and producers.
Engaging Room 1 with another of his extended sets, Sven was all set to turn matter into his own personal playground once more, delivering big-room smashers with the odd surprise dropped in. Joining him was Reboot, who took to the stage this time around, bringing his arresting live show following Extrawelts live performance in April. Under his Reboot guise, Frank Heinrich has contributed house-inflected deep mimimal techno to labels including Cocoon, Cadenza and Moon Harbour with his original compositions and remixes of Guy Gerber and Matthias Tanzmann. The Frankfurt producers live sets build steadily with delicate percussive grooves and elegantly constructed beats, a perfect companion to the swelling atmosphere of any Cocoon night.
Room 2 was in the capable hands of Onur Özer, who finally arrived at matter following the late cancellation of his appearance in April due to visa issues. The more intimate surrounding of matters second room will reverberate to the elementally funky rolling beats of the Turkish tyro, whos elevated the minimal and tech house styles by infusing it with the warmer sounds of the Istanbul scene he helped invigorate, involving himself in the founding of several new club venues in the city since the turn of the century. Completing the bill was Cocoons Frank Lorber a veteran of their parties in Frankfurt and Ibiza and Christian C-Rock Rindermann, the multi-monikered founder of Stir15 Recordings and Lo-Fi Stereo who runs the Going Deeper night at Cocoon Club in Frankfurt.
Oh yes - Following the great success of our parties with Cocoon at the Mint Club, Leeds, System is pleased to announce that the very first Cocoon in the Park open air festival in Leeds will take place on Saturday June 27 at Temple Newsam.
Set in the grounds of a 450 year old mansion house, the festival site—an area of outstanding natural beauty surrounded by forrests and a lake—will play host to an exclusive lineup over one stage headed-up by Cocoon ringmaster, Sven Vath, with more guests to be confirmed. Expect the usual breathtaking Cocoon production including dancers, full lighting show and sound provided by Funktion-1.

Only 21 days left until the opening of the seasonal Cocoon Ibiza campaign ... and as the summer is finally arriving all over Europe we're adding our part to the heat with these crazy lineups ... join our DJ matadors and go celebrate 10 Years Cocoon Ibiza!!
The current release on Cocoon Digital comes from Cocoon Ibiza resident Arian, to many rather known as Arian 911. The DJ and producer who shuttles between Ibiza and Frankfurt hereby releases the wonderfully twisted "Dadap Dadap, the proper "IAYF Remix" and another remix by the Spanish newcomer Rickzor alias Ricardo Martinez.
While listening to "Dadap Dadap, everyone will understand why we do not try to categorize or pigeonhole this sound. Arian's way of production has often proved to be novel, unorthodox or difficult to feel out, and with this track he definitely lives up to this reputation. With the help of all kinds of sounds, babbles, background noises and vocal bits, he creates a sonic dimension in which one can easily lose any objective perception. Next to its sonic depth, "Dadap Dadap is also very groovy and downright monstrously percussive.
In the "IAYF Remix a sick Tech House beat with a powerful bass meets catchy, sometimes alienated vocals. This grants an almost psychedelic atmosphere to this road-tested dance floor filler.
For Rickzor it has been an audible pleasure to create his proper, rather straight and technoid version, using his very own and authentic handwriting.
With this release, Cocoon Digital welcomes a long-term Cocoon Ibiza resident now also as a new artist on the label!
