During this Lenten season Family Missions Company invites you to join our missionaries in Mexico in fasting and praying for the men of General Cepeda.
We have long had a presence in this region of Mexico and many of you reading this have been to General Cepeda and were greatly blessed by your time there.
For years our missionaries in General Cepeda have encountered a faith community sorely lacking holy men of God. The men are absent from their families and churches, instead portraying "machismo", an attitude of toughness, indifference to the Faith and rejection of their responsibilities as sons and fathers. This attitude is being spread from generation to generation, furthering a culture of absent fathers, alcoholism, and prostitution.
We believe that God wants to move in a powerful way this year in the lives of the men of General Cepeda. It is for this reason that we will be praying, fasting, and crying out to God for the walls to come crashing down in the hearts of these men.
Join us on this journey of fasting and prayer from March 12th to March 19th, the Feast of St. Joseph, as we storm the gates of heaven for these men to turn back to the Lord with their whole hearts.
We want 1,000 people to see this video so that the men in our church might RISE UP and chose to become missionaries for the kingdom and spread of the name of Jesus Christ. Will you help us SHARE this message?
God is calling many people today to proclaim the Good News. Do you feel called to be a full time missionary? We hope and pray that if you do, you will respond generously to that call with your whole heart, with your whole life. Indeed, it is a great challenge, and those of us who have given our lives as missionaries know that there is no better life than one given completely in the service of the Gospel.
All Catholic families and laity are called to the apostolate of evangelization and sanctification of our world today. There is exciting growth in the numbers of Catholic lay missionaries and families with children giving their lives to foreign mission.
Please contact our office if you would like additional information; we would love the opportunity to talk and pray with you. Jesus is begging His Father to send laborers into the vineyard – the task is urgent, come with us into the fields!
Eric is a young boy in northern Mexico whose joy and optimism in the face of great suffering and poverty is a story that captured our hearts and had to be told. We are so blessed to be able to share this piece with you.
For Catholic communities in Mexico and around the world, a church is a place of prayer, a visible symbol of faith and a focal point for the community. It is where the people come together to celebrate Mass, worship God, learn about the Faith and pray before the Blessed Sacrament.
In some of the ejidos of General Cepeda, MX, where resources are not available, people have to gather together inside houses, sheds, or even simply outside in the dirt.
The Rebuild My Church Project is an attempt to bring aid to poor communities of the Saltillo Diocese who have nowhere to gather their community.
With your help we will complete chapels in villages like Cuchilla del Indio where the local people have begun laying the foundations of a chapel where they can praise and worship the Lord together on Sundays and celebrate Mass once a month when the priest comes.
Isn’t a chapel expensive? How can I help?
The average cost for building a chapel in the General Cepeda Municipal is $2,500.00 USD. That means that your donation of $2,500.00 USD can build an entire chapel. Your donation of $750.00 can place a floor and foundation for the rest of the chapel construction. Any donation you can contribute will help, even $20.00 can put in a window or a pew. We will send you photos of the work and the communities you help so you can pray for the people and they can pray for you. For those parishes or groups who desire we can name the chapel after your patron saint.
Please prayerfully consider laying up a treasure that will never decay. Help us bring Jesus to those who have never had a church to call their own.
We NEED you! The villages of Luz y Colon and Fortin in the desert of Northern Mexico have over 30 families who have been in desperate need of water for more than 3 months now. These villages are faithful to prayer and Mass, showing up in large numbers every time they are visited by missionaries or priests.
Family Missions Company has a unique opportunity to be an answer to their prayer, specifically their prayer for water for their homes, fields, and livestock. The humble farming families of these villages are having to stand by helplessly watching their crops and livestock die for lack of water, while companies selling water from trucks come through the towns distributing water at such exorbitant prices that the residents can’t afford to buy enough water to bathe and wash clothes, much less to water their fields and animals. Many of the families in these ranchos live on about $10 a week, and see no way to pay for a working water well. Other than farming, and raising goats and some cattle, there are no other sources of income available to these hardworking people.
For only $2,500, we can help them to drill a new well that would provide ample clean running water for both communities for years to come. This water could save their livelihoods, improve their health, and allow them to stay on the land that in most cases their families have been farming for generations. Please give generously!
