This is a video compilation of images from White's personal library, a visual record of inspiration to her personal approach and process. This is accompanied by an audio of White’s September 2010 interview with the principals of the Chicago based weekly art podcast and blog Badatsports.com.
This video was part of the exhibition 6 Years/6 Works at Cress Gallery, University of Tennessee Chattanooga (Oct 11 - Dec 2, 2012).
Artist Wendy White took us to her studio in Chinatown and gave us a tour around her neighborhood in New York City. It’s the ideal place to think about her latest work - glorious rambunctious color drives the works, with collapsing angular fonts being forced off the grid. It’s easy to get lost in the energy in her work.
