June 4th, 2009. We opened and closed our June performance party with an improvisation circle. Based on a "Rhythm Machine" inspired by Alice Kanack's Creative Ability Development, musicians (BTW we are ALL musicians) add their own "riff" or "groove" to the "machine." Here, family and audience members are asked to join in. I think the results are mighty magical. The video begins with one of our violin students lovingly inviting a reluctant parent up to join.
Zachary Burrage-Goodwin (then in High School) joins Chittick 4th grade cellists in their first performance of Twinkle in 2009. Zach's contributions to musiConnects were amazing, because in our second year, we did not have a formal cello instructor. These cellists could not have done this without Zach's volunteerism.
