Jeffertitti's Nile returns to the Satellite during the magic hour between XMass & NewYears to mix up the holiday cheer. The performance was extremely tight, with an incredible bass/kick alliance maintained by Josh Tillman, aka Father John Misty, on drums and Ignacio Gonzalez on bass. Josh added notable yet subtle flare to many of the older JNile numbers -- in this video you can hear some great touches in the bridge around 3:36
Jeffertitti's Nile re-groups en force on the stage of Virgil after front man Jeff Ramuno's return to LA from his national tour playing bass with Father John Misty. The Nile, featuring Ignacio Gonzales on drums/synth, Ali Kellog on bass, and Alyson Kennon on keys (all three backing vox), was the most on point we've heard them since this line-up assembled back in February '12, with tasty new percussion, vocal harmonies, and bass lines. Jeff's guitar tones were epic, completely justifying the three worn in guitars, two amplifiers straight out of the Sears catalog, and suitcase full of mystery flavored effects pedals. The setlist featured some new and newer jams that outshined older favorites.
The over all sound was extremely well balanced owning in part to the Virgil's system and some guest sound support from Rick Mabery (Barn Studios). Projections by Thief. Shows great promise for the Jeffertitti's/Entrance Band night at the Satellite on August 23rd (Thursday)
