In this piece water, the source of life, is non-diegetically combined with technology, humankind's greatest creation -- reflecting the collision of the human world with the non-human, and the disconnected ways that humans experience nature. The creatures in this film are completely oblivious to how their image is being manipulated and observed. Life will go on living, and humans will continue to tinker with technologies that, while beautiful, are also sterile and must now coexist with the originally beautiful, life. The sound in this film features my favorite electronic music duo, Crystal Castles, with a sound that might never escape human consciousness, that of waves and rushing water. Stock footage is from BBC Life, Episode 4.
