Chase Josey is one of those kids who knows how to ride his snowboard. Native son to world famous Sun Valley Idaho, he is at home at the top of a peak in Argentina, fore running the Mt Baker Banked Slalom, or in the finals of a pipe contest, when Chase rides people watch. After hitting some podiums on the grand prix series, and boosting some air at The Launch, Chase won a snowmobile at The Red Bull Double Pipe in Aspen, and then indulged himself South American culture and riding this summer. This footage is a sneak peak into his bag of tricks from these stops around the globe. Keep an eye out for this kid!
In mid January of 2014 an arctic cold front set in over British Columbia, along with blue skies for the rest of the month. With a stable snowpack and good pow high up, the options for snowboarding seemed endless. It's not too often that you get to hike up and ride down just about anywhere with little concern for avalanches. I had been eying up this pillow line for over a year and it was the perfect time to give it a try.
Many thanks to Ian Provo, Pete Alport and Daniel Rönnbäck for capturing the moment that day.
