I just reached the next milestone in this project - getting both sonar sensors to play nice with each other so that I can detect an object (person) in individual or both zones. yay! I took a quick video of the outcome and I hope it serves the purpose of showing from a first-person view how reactive the lighting is getting and how it changes based where the user is in the kitchen. A lot of lessons were learned in dealing with more than one sonar sensor. Thank you's to all the resources I scoured over the past few weeks to pick up the right techniques. More to come!
This was the first test video taken once I fine tuned the logic for the proximity sensor. Only a single sensor is in play and it is dry-fit to the ceiling (if you look carefully you can see the wiring on the ceiling). I'm still working through refining the algorithm to ignore false positives, but its getting there. The next step is to add the proximity detection to the right side of the counter in "Zone-B". The start-up purple color is there for for fun. Thanks for checking it out!
