1. As Cinematics Director on the project, I am pleased to be able to share this Action Reel I put together for Army of Two: The Devils Cartel.

I cut this together the Sunday following our studio closure and layoff as tribute for my fallen teammates. Now that the game is out I can make this public.

Cheer's to everyone who helped get this done in Montreal, Vancouver, Los Angeles and Shanghai!

The concept behind The Devil's Cartel is straight forward, Die Hard meets Expendables with a whole lot of Micheal Bay. I think we pulled it off well. :)

  2. This video contains pieces of sequences I directed on Army of Two: The Devils Cartel and Dragon Age: Origins.

-Directing Storyboard artists and Animators to previs scenes.
-Directing acting and stunt talent to capture all mocap footage at multiple Motion Capture Studios.
-Leading multiple teams to build out scenes with Motion Capture, refine camera's and shot flow, hand key missing elements.
-Product Owner for the tools and pipeline needed to implement all cinematics.
-Hands on with the implementation process leading animators and designers to integrate scenes smoothly into the game.
-Direct Special Effects, Lighting, Art, Scripting, and Audio personal to bring all aspects of cinematic scenes to quality.

Thanks to everyone involved for helping make some awesome scenes!

  3. Over the last 10 years I've gotten heavily involved in the direction, leadership, and production side of cinematics. Occasionally I still get my hands dirty and create a few shots or a pre-production proof of concept scene.

Here's some select shots I've animated from:

Army of Two: The Devils Cartel 2013
    Mass Effect 2 2010
    Dragon Age: Origins 2009
    Mass Effect 2007
    Jade Empire 2005

  4. This was a favorite scene of mine while directing Army of Two. The writer and myself got to add some personality to this establishing El Carnicero as a bad ass that would kick a grenade into his own men and use them as human shields. We also re introduce a grown up Fiona to Alpha and Bravo now a well trained mercenary able to hold her own. Originally El Carnicero didn't make an appearance here, but we wrote him in to establish his presence for a later fight. And if nothing else, another reason to blow stuff up. :)

  5. As the director and supervisor of cinematic production on Army of Two The Devils Cartel, I've picked out these scenes that best represent the cinematic presentation of the game. While the game play may have suffered and the choice to abandon Salem and Rios as player characters turned off the fan base on the story, the execution from my team to produce over an hour of cinematics under some incredibly stressful conditions shines through in these scenes.
