A quick video talking about some basic ways to deal with smooth levels in your rigs . . . How to set up a low poly proxy version and various smoothed versions that you can switch quickly and easily using some small mel scripts. Nothing too fancy, but useful stuff if you need to make your scenes a bit lighter to work with, but still get good smoothing come render-time.
As a sort of companion piece to the animated texture video, this video talks about using animated normal and bump maps to add detail to your character in certain poses. Sort of like a texture-based corrective shape.
