THE 2013 LECTURE was given by Kevin Crossley-Holland and is entitled, Footprints on the Grass Speaking of Gardens and Children’s Books. It took place at 5.00pm on the 5th of September at Homerton College, Cambridge.
Kevin Crossley-Holland is a well-known poet and prize-winning author for children. His most recent book Scramasax was published by Quercus earlier this year.
The Seeing Stone won the Guardian Children’s Fiction Award, the Smarties Prize Bronze Medal, and the Tir na n-Og Award. The trilogy has won worldwide critical acclaim and has been translated into twenty-five languages.
FRANK COTTRELL BOYCE is a gifted and versatile writer, a wizard of word and image, an award-winning novelist for children and a brilliant screenplay writer. All of his many talents were on show to the world in his memorable collaboration with Danny Boyle for the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012. Frank gave 2014 the Philippa Pearce Memorial Lecture at Homerton College Auditorium 5:00 on 11 September. The title for Frank’s talk was Rowing on the River of Time
