1. Also a member of the Icelandic indie acts Seabear and Sin Fang, Sóley Stefánsdóttir performs delicate electronic pop on her own as just Sóley. Inspired by Scandinavian acts such as Sigur Rós and Múm, she began making music in her teens, and studied piano and composition at the Icelandic Art Academy in 2007. During that time she also played and sang with Seabear and Sin Fang, though at first she was afraid to sing too close to the microphone. She overcame that fear with experience and began work on her solo project, issuing her debut EP, Theater Island, on Morr Music in 2010. The following year, her first album, the more fleshed-out We Sink, arrived.

  3. With his home grown and self-taught approach to songwriting, Icelandic singer-songwriter Snorri Helgason has been favorably compared to singer-songwriter greats like Paul Simon, Harry Nilsson and Neil Young. While his music resonates with past greats, his mixing of diverse influences of everything from soul to Britpop to glam-rock into his primarily folk-based songs—not to mention his Icelandic background—leaves us with something entirely unique.

His personal, understated yet intense live shows, whether playing solo or with a band, have garnered positive reviews from blogs and magazines from around the world.

He released his sophomore solo album, “Winter Sun” in Iceland in August 2011. The album was produced by Icelandic indie-pop great Sindri Már Sigfússon (Seabear, Sin Fang) and has received unanimous critical praise in the local market. He is currently recording his third album set for release in 2013.
