Every year our firefighters deliver free British Heart Foundation ‘Heartstart’ training to hundreds of people across the West Midlands.
In just a couple of hours students learn how to give life-saving chest compressions and how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). You can find out more and sign up by visiting bhf.org.uk.
Michael Scott, from Birmingham, did his Heartstart course at Ladywood Community Fire Station. Just six weeks later, he used it to help save a man’s life.
