Clean water is the backbone of South Florida's economy--and America's Everglades provide the freshwater supply for over 7.5 million Floridians. Local businesses, tourism, real estate and recreational opportunities in South Florida all depend on health of the Everglades. This video highlights recent achievements in Everglades restoration and speaks to business owners and conservationists from around South Florida.
In 2012, the Everglades Foundation partnered with Florida Atlantic University to create an Everglades curriculum to be taught in schools across Florida. An advisory committee comprised of teachers, administrators and scientists created these educational materials to be used in the curriculum.
The material was presented to K-12 teachers in late September of 2013 for the first time at a workshop designed to prepare them to pilot the materials in their classrooms.
