Why delay the visible validation cues? Just because a user has stopped typing, or even if they blur the field, I'm not going to assume that they've made a mistake until they try to commit the data by submitting the form.
Yes, I know this isn't how "real" users use the web, but I still enjoy it!
The jitteriness stops after a refesh (which I do halfway through).
The Verge had a very big ad one day. No biggie, you can scroll past it. Page down once; page down twice.
Suddenly the pages scrolls all by itself!
What happens is the giant ad had auto-collapsed, shifting the page without warning. Not the best experience.
