1. Driving into Schoodic Head, a part of Acadia National Park that is a separate peninsula in downeast Maine across a body of water from Mount Desert Island, where most of the park is located, I began to talk into a hand-held recording device while I was sitting in the car and walking around on the rocks there. After a while I used my phone to shoot a one long take of water and rocks at the edge of the ocean. I walked around some more talking into the recording device some more. I finally thought maybe the 15 or 20 recordings I had made one after another might turn out about the same length as the video I had shot. When I did juxtapose them on my laptop at home, the video was 10 seconds longer -- the last 10 seconds of this video here.

This channel assembles videos Steve Benson thinks would be worth sharing with others after he is done with them. He has no working definition of 'patiency,' but he read Brandon Brown writing in a review of Marie Buck's chapbook Amazing Weapons on Jacket2 that 'Rob Halpern defines patiency as “agency’s inversion and complement. Located in a situation of suspended action, patiency nevertheless contests impotent privacy and docile quietude.”' That seems good enough for the time being, though it is fast disappearing.
