FLIP # 1:
This channel is reserved just for screencasts that are used to TEACH various skills and concepts following the FLIPPED Classroom. The Flipped Classroom model has been shown to greatly enhance student learning. You learn at your own pace. You start and stop and replay as often as you need. The instructional part which in the old days took place in the classroom only has now been moved to this platform. AFTER you view the lesson and perform whatever activity you are asked to do in the lesson you will bring that written work to class. Along with the exercise you are asked to do please staple one 4 by 6 inch lined index card with a summary of what the most important things you learned in the lesson written out.
You will be GRADED FOR COMPLETION OF THE EXERCISE AND ATTACHED CARD.
Then in class I will assign you pages in the textbook that in the past might have been your homework. You will now do them in class under my guidance. You may be asked to work with a partner to discuss the correct answers to the in-class exercise. I will circulate the room assisting and monitoring each person or group's progress. I will not TELL you the answers but rather question you in ways that will require to draw upon the last night or earlier lesson to come up with the correct answer. I will sort of be a COACH.
NOTE: IF YOU COME IN UNPREPARED...you will not take part in the activity. You will get a ZERO for the assignment and then asked to go sit alone in the room, away from the rest of the working groups, and do the assignment alone. If you come in three times UNPREPARED that will be considered an ABSENCE...since you are unable to work with the group activity.
