  2. I stumbled onto this odd little event: ELECTRATHON. Battery powered carts in a marathon in which the winner is determined by how far you go in a certain time with a given amount of battery power.

I image this is how the Grand Prix will be in the future, less about speed and combustion engines but more about charges and endurance. Plus instead of the roar of the engine, you hear the buzz of electric motors. Overall it's kind of like holding a race with wind up watches to see who's slows down first. But none the less, It was quite the fun event to watch. For more info on Electrathon go to: electrathonamerica.org/

This race was held at the Portland International Raceway, May 26th, 2013.

Intro footage from the Prelinger Archive: Design for Dreaming (1956)

Shot with the Panasonic GH3 and Lumix G vario 14-140MM lens. (Remind me next time to always bring a tripod.)

  4. This is a goofy little video I made at of The Portland Pugfest that took place May 18th, 2014 at Portland Brewing Company. It is a charity fund raising event to benefit the Oregon Humane Society. For more info: oregonhumane.org/pugcrawl/

I was testing out a new lens (Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6) on my Panasonic GH3 camera that day. It worked fairly well to capture those quick little pugs. Had to abandon the shoot early due to a huge hail and rain storm that blew in but even though it was a lot of fun.
