Last year, we had a blast collaborating with our friends at MTV's World Design Studio in Milan on 'MTV At The Movies'. We were stoked when they rang us up a couple months ago seeking an explosive good time for their latest series of station IDs for MTV "Pulse," the network's block of rock music programming. We created five unique CG-integrated lifestyle scenes that ignite behind the idea that rock & roll is more than just music; it's a culture and a way of life. Walls explode and the ground erupts around a passionate kiss, the strum of a guitar, the beat of a drum, skateboarding and more. Check out the behind-the-scenes video to see just how we blow things up without, you know, blowing things up. That would be dangerous. And danger is not our middle name; it's Alan.
Talk to anyone about the classic era of TV that was the 70's and 80's and they'll all have their favourite shows. They'll be able to hum the theme tune and will know all the characters! We set about digitally remastering the tone of that period into a brand whose voice has the contagious enthusiasm that can only come from a real fan.
The GoGoGo's are a brand new musical act produced by Mike Stock (Stock Aitken Waterman), and Steve Crosby, (Steps). Aimed at a young audience, their fun & catchy pop songs are sure to be a big hit with viewers.
We have been working with nickelodeon from the ground up to create a number of CGI music videos for the GoGoGo's. This has included working on original concepts & ideas for a 3D world in which the band will have their adventures, along with creating branding to fit in with the new nick jr look & feel.
As well as designing and creating detailed 3D sets and the flying craft that the band get around in called the BumbleBug, we have also handled the composting, working with all of the green screen studio footage to integrate the band in to our finished 3D sets.
The first song 'Wake up Smiling' can be seen at 7am & 8am on nick jr, and more songs are soon to featured as interstitials through out the day.
Ovation is America's only arts network, dedicated to using their TV and online presence to building a community that brings together artists with art lovers.
We were approached for a comprehensive rebrand and delivered a new identity system for on-air design, destination nights, cross-channel promotion, a website re-skin, audio identity, digital and print corporate collateral and an extensive style guide. We also created design to support their social platform, CulturePop, as well as their arts education advocacy initiatives. Read more.
Ovation's unique approach to content curation makes them one of the few remaining quality outlets for arts and culture television programming in the U.S. Our strategists worked to develop positioning that angled this curatorial expertise to the forefront of the new brand.
This positioning inspired a visual aesthetic that balanced a minimalist eye for typography and graphic elements with rich and textural imagery culled from the many documentaries, films and performance programs in Ovation's lineup. Every detail, from the animation style through to the original music, was created to feel hand-crafted and unique, subtly reinforcing the artists' spirit throughout. The resulting identity is an engaging and accessible package that allows for endless iteration for Ovation's talented in-house team of designers and producers.
