This short was shot with the The "MōVI" - a digital 3-axis gyro-stabilized handheld camera gimbal. The completely silent device weighs under 3.5 pounds bare and can be operated solo, or with the help of a second "gimbal" operator with a joystick to pull off some incredible moves. This short was shot ENTIRELY handheld with the MōVI, a Canon EOS 1DC (at 4K) and a Canon 24mm 1.3 Cine Prime (and a Zeiss 18mm CP.2 for the aerial shots.)
Here is a spot I shot in Bali (DP) with the fantastic director Prakash Varma of Nirvana Films of India for Mountain Dew starring Hrithik Roshan. 3 Epics, 1 Phantom camera, DSRLs, GoPros, One remote control helicopter, One underwater housing, Three boats... you name it: everything but the kitchen sink! And notably a fantastic Indonesian crew. We had crew from 7 different countries on this spot actually and as you can image (while it was a logistical feat to get all of the gear and people there from several continents to a relatively remote part of Indonesia) it was one of the best experiences I've had in a long time. The cast and crew were fantastic!
