  4. Part Two shows how the watercolor painting develops from the abstract, geometric pattern created in Part One. The Color Scheme Game is played to determine both the color scheme and the dominant color. Various watercolor techniques are illustrated as the artist builds textured layers, defining the final shapes, values and rhythm of the painting.

  5. Part One of the art demo in which Chris Carter demonstrates one way to create an abstract, geometric composition based on three points that create a triangle. A pencil, straight edge and piece of string are all that are required to develop a strong foundation of shapes upon which to build with layers of textured watercolor. This is one of the design techniques used in her watercolor technique workshops.

Mostly short art demos to supplement my painting workshops, generally less than five minutes.... brief refreshers for my students. Occasionally I'll post something quirky. Though in most of the demos I work in ink and/or watercolor, I may post a few in oil as well. To view my work and for information on the workshops please visit my website at ChrisCarterArt.com.
