A nonpartisan, factual, and informative power point presentation about Prop. 1. April 21 at 7pm City Hall.
Voters will be asked to go to the polls May 5 to vote on Ballot Proposal I, sometimes referred to as the sales tax increase proposal. Ballot Proposal I covers so much more than raising the sales tax! The proposal, if passed not only approves a Constitutional Amendment, but also activates 10 other laws dealing with how revenue will be raised and spent, changes dealing with competitive bidding and road warranties, as well as provisions affecting school and local government funding. It is a complex package!
Judy Karandjeff from the League of Women Voters of Michigan will offer a nonpartisan, factual, and informative power point presentation, followed by audience questions. She will explain this comprehensive proposal.
Ms. Karndjeff is Vice President for Advocacy for the League of Women Voters of Michigan, former Executive Director of the Michigan Women’s Commission, and a 2012 inductee into the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame.
