1. Dawn and Jim's first stop in Thailand was Bangkok. After getting our bearings in this big crazy city, we took a very nice (and dangerous!) bike tour, saw a friend and some site, went to a giant mall, and took a cooking class.

  2. Dawn and Jim's next stop in Thailand was Kanchanaburi - a small city about 3 hours west of Bangkok. Day 1 was all about WWII history - this is the location of the Bridge over the River Kwai.

Day 2 was Elephants World - possibly the best day of our entire trip! It is a sanctuary for retired or disabled elephants. We spent the day volunteering - cooking, feeding, clearing banana trees, riding the elephants, bathing/swimming with them. HIGHLY recommended if you find yourself in the area!

"Going to the Country" - Canned Heat
"Tane Mahuta" - The Ruby Suns

  3. Our third stop in Thailand was Khao Sok national park. It's a beautiful natural area - tons of animals, towering karst formations, and a big ole lake. We took a trip to the lake, spent the night in a raft-house, and did some jungle hiking and caving.

  4. In the last 4 days of our trip, Dawn and Jim headed to the beach! Railay first, Ko Phi Phi last. Railay is a fantastic climbing area - and Phi Phi is decent as well.

Overall - Thailand was a great trip.

    "Hold On" - Alabama Shakes
    "Feel it All" - Feist
