Growing up in Oklahoma, I always fell asleep to the sound of a distant train. This is a portrayal of that ghost train. Since my house was a half mile from the railroad tracks, and I was usually tucked into bed when the train passed, I never got a chance to see it. I just heard its call, bellowing deep from within the country, as if it were the night itself. Making this little film made me realize just how much I love the sound of a distant, evening train.
This is my first music video. It's messy. I made it for my friends' band. They do not exist anymore. They moved to New York City and got into a huge fight. One is now the drummer for The Riverboat Gamblers, one is in jail for 5 years, and the other is living in Brooklyn.
This video was originally created as background footage for my live music show. Turns out... it kinda stands on its own. This was filmed at the most conservative news station in Oklahoma at 3 AM when nobody was looking. Starring Ray Prewitt, Matt Brown, and Derek Doublin.
