1. I Ballroom Danced is a spoof of Lonely Island's " I Just Had Sex." This video was made for the Movers and Shakers Gala 2013 by the evenings emcee Matt Quasius. The video was filmed & edited by Double Vision Films. Music was recorded and produced by Next Level Musik.
Thank you for everyone who participated in the making of this video. We truly appreciate all of your help!
    ENJOY!

Lyrics: ( So you can sing along!)
    Sometimes (Oh-oh-ohhh)

Something beautiful happens in this world (Quasius!)

You don't know how to express yourself, so (And Lakeland College!)

    You just gotta sing

(Yeah)

    I ballroom danced
And it felt so good (Felt so good)

    Raising money for Lakeland College

I ballroom danced And I'll never go back (Never go back)

To the not-ballroom dancing ways of the past

Have you ever ballroom danced?
I have, it felt great (Yeah)

Out of my way, Matt I’m gonna be late

It’s really not fair, I’m practically a pro

Watch out this year I’m gonna steal the show!

For the past 5 years we’ve raised big Dollars

So much it makes me want to Scream and Holla

Kudos to Lakeland and the Sheboygan Symphony

Supporting not-for profits throughout the community

Don’t need to be a dancer or the emcee

To support Lakeland College and the Symphony

To truly be a Mover and Shaker

You just have to shake your Money Maker

She ballroom danced (Yeah) And she didn’t give birth
They made her dance with a baby inside her
    She should have won

To be honest, I'm surprised that they wanted me do it
(I never ballroom danced)
    But man, screw it

I’m not a guy who’s too afraid to try a new thing

(How’d it go?) At least I didn’t have to sing!

I'm so humbled by my partner’s ability to teach me

'Cause honestly, I doubted her ability to reach me

So thanks for helping me to keep the beat

I’m sorry that I kept on stepping on your feet

So this one's dedicated to those fans

That told us we were good when we weren’t

If you're near or far, whether short or tall

We wanna thank you all for voting for us

I didn't beat Matt (Doesn't matter, you danced!)

But I skipped two workouts (Doesn't matter, you danced!)
She had another partner (Doesn't matter, you danced!)
She made me wear a mask (Still counts!)

    I ballroom danced
And my dreams came true (Dreams came true)

So if you are a Mover and Shaker

Then you qualified to sing with me

    I ballroom danced (Everybody sing!)

And it felt so good (We all danced!)

    Raising money for Lakeland College

I ballroom danced (I ballroom danced)

And I'll never go back (Never go back)

To the not-ballroom dancing ways of the past

  2. Willing to take on a dance that’s challenging and fast-paced, Wally promises to push the envelope on the Gala dance floor. Born in Stetsonville, Wisconsin as one of 10 children, Wally has lived in Sheboygan for more than 30 years.

It is here where he met his wife of 23 years, Tracy, and where they have raised Carl, Dean and Reed.

A graduate of UW-Eau Claire, he has always enjoyed the arts. Wally is vice president of sales and communications at ACUITY and has received the Insurance Industry Representative of the Year Award for Wisconsin. He has served as president of the Aurora Health Foundation (where he received the Distinguished Service Award) and as director of the Sheboygan Theatre Company.

He is currently a member of the ACUITY Charitable Foundation and serves on Theatre for Young Audience’s board. Wally has played numerous roles in local theatrical productions including Theater for Young Audience's "Wizard of Oz" and title roles in Sheboygan Theatre Company's "The Foreigner" and "The Nerd."

Wally is sponsored by ACUITY and has chosen Theatre for Young Audiences to recieve 50% of the proceeds raised through the purchase of extra votes on his behalf.

  3. Nellie was born in the Netherlands and moved to the United States with her family when she was three. Her entrepreneurial parents instilled in her a spirit to try anything at least once—in the case of the Gala, twice.

Growing up in Waukesha, her career in massage therapy brought her to Sheboygan where she married Steven Schmitt.

Nellie’s community involvement is wide-ranging and includes work with the Sheboygan Falls School District and six years with the Sheboygan Service Club. She has performed in community plays, perhaps the most memorable of which was her role as Patsy Cline in “Always. . .Patsy Cline”. She also performed several songs from this play at a Sheboygan Symphony Pops Concert. Nellie is a member of the local rock group IC3. The Gala is truly a family affair for Nellie—her husband Steve is the current president of The Sheboygan Symphony and a member of the Gala committee, and her twin daughters are producing practice session videos of each dancer.

Nellie is sponsored by Loretta Schmitt, Jos. Schmitt & Sons Construction Co. and friends. She has chosen Meals on Wheels as the recipient of 50% of the proceeds raised through the purchase of extra votes on her behalf.

She will be performing the quick step with her dance partner, Jack Ryan.

  4. The true yin-yang of Suzie is that, if she hadn’t become a doctor, she had wanted to be a ballerina. She has an artistic passion for dance as much as a scientific desire for learning and challenge.

Suzie earned a bachelor’s degree at Boston College and an MD at the University of Virginia. She is board certified in internal medicine and claims to have met her husband, Jeff, over an appendix.

After residency, she spent two years on the faculty at the University of Rochester School of Medicine before moving back to the area as an internist. After taking time off to be home with her three treasured children, she is now medical director of executive wellness for Prevea.

Suzie is vice president of the Kohler School Foundation, an active parent volunteer in Kohler Schools and on the board of the Friends of St. Nicholas Hospital. Family, friends and education are at the top of her dance card.

Suzie is sponsored by Prevea. She has chosen Safe Harbor as the recipient of 50% of the proceeds raised through the purchase of extra votes on her behalf.

She will be performing the rumba and cha cha with her dance partner, Frank Gillitzer.

  5. Lisa is returning to the Gala dance floor with her partner from 2012, Guy Singer. A love of all things “retro” has led her to select Nancy Sinatra as her inspiration for this year’s Gala routine. Lisa is employed by Plastics Engineering Company.

She also owns and operates Northstar Farm where she teaches dressage, known as the ballet of the horse world.

She also enjoys practicing agility with her Australian Shepherd, Josie, the real star of last year’s Gala video. Lisa has continued her tap dance studies over the past year and will be performing with her coach, Sue Alby, for the Unity Music Festival this April at the Stephanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts.

In addition to Lakeland College and The Sheboygan Symphony, Lisa is pleased to dance this year for the benefit of Lakeshore Community Health Center’s programs and services which address the health care needs of individuals and families struggling to maintain self-sufficiency.

Lisa is sponsored by Plastics Engineering Company and has chosen Lakeshore Community Health Center as the recipient of 50% of the proceeds raised through the purchase of extra votes on her behalf.

She will be performing a jive and tap routine with her dance partner, Guy Singer.
